FIND YOUR CENTER
CASE 3 - AGE & LIFESTYLE
Age, hormones, weight changes, diet and medications can all affect how your body looks and feels. Nutrition contributes to your weight, your energy level, but also to the strength of your tissues. Is it important to keep in mind the effect that these elements can have on everything including muscle strength and response to exercise. Just because you haven't had children or had an operation does not mean that you haven't compromised your core. Finding your center often involves a bird's eye view of your situation in order to appreciate all of the factors that contribute to your general well-being.
One of the most critical elements in anyone's life is STRESS. Stress can make you gain weight, lose weight, lose your hair, lose your health, and generally lose your mind. One of the key hormones involved in stress is cortisol. High cortisol levels will cause you to retain excess fat and deposit it everywhere you don't want it (as if there are places that you do!). One of the key areas for cortisol-caused fat is the central abdomen, or right inside your belly. This fat clumps around your organs, bulges your belly from within, and itself is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and other health related problems. What is more is that it is not accessible for surgical removal.
A comprehensive core regimen must involve an overall look at all of these factors, and the ability to methodically zone in on areas open for improvement. Surgery can help in some cases, but it is not always the answer; and even when it is, it is often not enough on its own to get you where you need to be. That's where the core curriculum network comes in...
