CASE 2 - POST SURGERY
Surgery is essentially a planned, controlled trauma. As such, it requires a lot of reserves and a lot of resources to recover from it. Any time that someone has surgery on their abdomen, they may experience small or large changes in their core that can translate into huge functional issues in the short and long term. Understanding how to rehabilitate your core is essential to reclaiming that function and healing from the inside out.

Any time that someone has surgery on their abdomen, they may experience small or large changes in their core that can translate into huge functional issues in the short and long term. Understanding how to rehabilitate your core is essential to reclaiming that function and healing from the inside out.
It is important when having surgery to follow your surgeon's recommendations and restrictions. It is also important to get moving as soon as you can and begin the sometimes long and arduous process of rehabilitation and recuperation. In some cases, scar tissue can overgrow, either in the form of a visible scar, or in the form of internal glue that shifts layers of tissue or causes things to get stuck. What you might not realize is that there are often things you can do to improve or sometimes even resolve these issues. Structural shifts can also change the entire dynamic of your core, making non surgical treatments like physical therapy particularly challenging or ineffective. Getting the right evaluation and knowing your options for remedy are key to re-establishing that beautiful, functional, strong belly, no matter what it went through before.
