A Comprehensive, Insightful and Unique Approach to Reconstructing, Retraining, and Rebalancing Your Body For Surgical Recovery and Fitness Optimization
The Core Curriculum was founded in 2018. Dr. Sophie Bartsich, an established plastic surgeon in New York City, realized that there was a glaring lack of post-partum or post-traumatic rehabilitation for the core. Examining the data on tummy tucks, it was clear that rebalancing the belly muscles had a functional, in addition to a cosmetic effect. The daughter of a lifelong OB/GYN, Dr. Bartsich had grown up witnessing the gaps in women's health, specifically in terms of core repair. She was determined to change the narrative.
As she began to discuss the issue with her colleagues and peers, Dr. Bartsich noted that this gap existed across the board. She began to recruit other practitioners in physical therapy, acupuncture, urology, and pelvic medicine, to bring together a multi-disciplinary team that could begin to build these treatment models. Thought leaders and experts in their fields, these practitioners had each long been frustrated with the fact that mothers in particular, but patients in general, were consistently being told to accept the fact their bodies would never work the way that they used to. These practitioners shared the common goal of helping their patients restore their cores, and rediscover their functionality. They had tremendous success independently at restoring athletes, celebrities, and everyday moms to optional function. It was a perfect fit. The Core Curriculum is the ultimate multi-dimensional approach to getting your body back. By blending reconstructive surgery, targeted fitness, Eastern and Western medicine, nutrition and general wellness, you can not only reclaim your core, but re-balance your system and find your center. |
